🛒 Co-op's Gluten Free Range
Like Co-op stores, their gluten free range is only a small section of products so there’s not a huge amount of choice when it comes to gluten free at Co-op. Their small section does stock basic gluten free products, a mix of both their own brand and partner brands products, so it’s reassuring to know that you’ll always be able to pick up something gluten free at one of their stores. Their Free From shelves usually stock pasta, an assortment of bread products, cereal, biscuits, flour and then a few extra luxury items. They don’t have a dedicated fridge or freezer space for gluten free items but you’ll still find suitable items dotted around the shop.
🥪 Gluten Free Meal Deals
Co-op has a meal deal sandwich offer but unfortunately, there are no gluten free sandwich options available, and most, if not all, of their salads contain pasta or grains, making them unsuitable for those on a gluten free diet.
✌🏻 Naturally Gluten Free Products
Like all supermarkets, Co-op carries hundreds of products that are gluten free by default so you don't need to buy something within the Free From section just because it's there - you can find a safe, gluten free product outside of the Free From shelves which is usually cheaper.
Knowing what doesn't need to be bought from the Free From section can save you money and open up a whole new world of safe, naturally gluten free products.
Keep an eye out for the usual suspects: no BROW (Barley, Rye, Oats, Wheat), and no 'may contain' warnings if you have coeliac disease.
