What is the gluten vs gluten free basket comparison?

We shopped for 9 staple food products: oats, cereal, bread, rolls, pasta, spaghetti, flour, biscuits and gravy granules at the UK's big supermarkets and we've even created a handy tool below to help you compare live prices!

Disclaimer: we know that cheap isn’t always best (especially for gluten free), but this comparison will allow us to clearly highlight the price differences between basic gluten and gluten free items and see how prices vary between the supermarkets.
Definitions
100g Basket Price = The total basket price when using the price per 100g of each item.
Total Basket Price = The total basket price when using the full price of each item.
We decided to use 100g Basket Price to rank each supermarket because some items were not available in the same weights, which made using the Total Basket Price unfair. For example:
- Supermarket A might only sell oats in a 1000g bag for £1.80 (£0.18 per 100g)
- Supermarket B might only sell them in a 500g bag for £1.00 (£0.20 per 100g)
Although Supermarket B's oats are cheaper overall, they are not as good value for money as Supermarket A's oats because you're getting less oats for your money, so using the 100g Basket Price gives a fairer comparison.
